Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wishing harm on anyone but no complaints about Church going on the DL if it means Fernando gets a chance to see what he can do in the bigs for a few weeks.   Dude has been tearing it up in AAA over the last month and we’ve only been hearing about the “Teenage Hitting Machine” since he was like 3 years old, so why not?

I’m sure he needs more seasoning but fuck it.   I mean when you are putting Tatis in the 5 hole to get ‘more pop in the lineup you don’t have much to lose.   It’s an ideal situation, as even if he comes up and looks overmatched, he was only supposed to be up for a couple weeks anyway so it’s good experience.   If he tears the cover off of the ball, then he’s up for good and we have a legit homegrown talent.

If that actually happens (this is the Mets we are talking about, so it won’t), maybe we can actually package Church with a pitcher such as Niese and make a play at a legit #2/3 starter near the break.    Fuck it, right?  Lets go Mets!
