Playing in Keith’s hometown, the Mets actually decided to come back from a game they were down a few runs in for once in my life last night. Even that fat fuck Livan couldn’t stop this as Dave “David” Wright came through with a 3-run double, clearing the bases in a clutch situation. I’ll wait for a second while you think about that. Anyway, even though he was left stranded at 3rd with no outs after pulling the Beltran steal, the Mets still managed to get across another couple of runs and pull off the win. Not sure what Putz’s deal is, but K-rod is the fucking man, bottom line. He lets on more base runners than I would like, but considering I’ve had to watch dickheads like Franco and Benitez “close” games for us, no complaints here. And with the offense coming around in late innings, maybe his pair of balls are contagious, because the 2008 Mets would be 0-2 on this road trip so far.
Tonight Johan will take the mound against 90-year old Randy Johnson, looking for the sweep. Considering the Mets have been afraid of scoring in most of his starts, maybe even that will change tonight. You figure the dude will shit is pants if we got him more than one run, as that’s all he needs, so we’ll see what happens. Before the road trip, I had said that .500 would be a success, especially with a tough series in Boston to close it out. While I’m not expecting anything crazy, this has more of a 2006 than a 2008 west coast road trip to it, so anything is possible.
